Monthly Lunch Club for Older People
Our lunch club meets the first Wednesday of the month in St Mary’s Church from 10am to 3.30pm. Our programme for the day includes a variety of activities with plenty of chance to chat to old friends and new, or to sit quietly with a newspaper – you are welcome to join in as much as you wish.
Here is a typical Lunch Club Programme
- 10am - Tea, coffee & biscuits on arrival whilst you choose what you would like to do
- 10.15am - Thought for the day
- 10.20am - Choice of activities:
- table top games, jigsaws etc
- craft table (a different craft each month linked to the theme)
- 12.30pm - Quiz
- 1pm - Lunch, for example home-cooked cottage pie & vegetables followed by fruit crumble & custard
- 2pm - Entertainment provided by a live band or entertainer
- 3.15pm - Tea with homemade cake
Lunch club is free to everyone although we welcome your donations towards costs on the day. Please book your place in advance with Gill (01844 346145). Lifts can be provided upon request. Disabled access is provided and there are disabled toilet facilities.
The lunch club enjoy many good times together and the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming.
