Samaritan’s Purse are running ‘Operation Christmas Child’ and asking people to pack a shoebox with small gifts which will then be given to a child who would not otherwise receive a gift at Christmas. The shoeboxes are sent to over 100 countries worldwide. Last year children living under occupation in Ukraine were excited to receive shoebox gifts via their local churches.
Leaflets detailing ‘how to pack a shoebox’ are available in church or via the samaritans-purse.org.uk website. Once you have your box ready, please bring into church by Sunday 5th November. Zoe Chandler is collecting all our boxes and will ensure they are delivered to the local distribution hub.
If you would prefer to send a donation, you can do so via the Samaritans Purse website. A donation of £5 per box is critical to cover shipping and other project costs.
