The Parish Weekend 

2008 Parish Weekend: October 24th - 26th at High Leigh Conference Centre

The 2008 Parish Weekend took place from Friday October 24th to Sunday October 26th . Once again, the venue was High Leigh Conference Centre, at Hoddesdon. The weather was fine and we were all able to enjoy the lovely grounds and surrounding countryside.

This year we were very fortunate to have Alan Wilson, Bishop of Buckingham leading the teaching of the weekend on the theme of Living Faith. Bishop Alan led three teaching sessions:

• What is Faith?
• What are the obstacles to Faith?
• How do we make our faith more outward reaching?

The teaching was really inspiring, and very helpful for St Mary's. Bishop Alan focussed much of what he said on the specific situation of the interregnum at St Mary's and the process of finding a new rector.

The young people on the weekend followed a broadly similar programme, with craft activities and games as well.
