To support God’s work through the Church by giving of our Time, using our Skills, giving our Money.
Is a way of seeing our relationship with God and in November each year we hold an annual renewal of our commitment of service to God.
Review resources – leaflets and talks – from the 2018 Gift Sunday (23rd September).
The Principles of Christian Giving are:
All that we have belongs to God – We are not owners, but trustees or stewards. In the bible a Steward of a household was responsible and a trusted manager.
- We should use what we’ve been given in His service
- We should give out of gratitude in proportion to what we have
- But first we should give ourselves to the Lord.
- How to support our work through Planned Giving
Planned Giving is a way of giving regularly to help fund the work of our Parish. It aims to help you give generously within your means, and makes it easier for the Parish to fund God’s work. It also helps the Parochial Church Council (PCC) to budget for the years ahead, giving solid financial foundations for the ministry and mission of our Parish, enabling us to plan for the future with confidence. Planned Giving also enables us to claim Gift Aid. We have a dedicated Planned Giving page to give you lots more information
What Charities do you support and how is this funded?
Please see our Charities page for more information.
Through easyfundraising.org St Mary’s & St Peter’s parishioners have already raised a staggering £1,039 for the church which helps support our work in the local community and supporting Christian charity work world-wide. Simply register with easyfundraising.org and shop online with over 2,700 top retailers including John Lewis, Amazon and M&S to name but a few and help us to continue our Christian work. Have you thought of leaving a gift to The Parish of St Mary with St Peter in your will?
If you are drawing up or amending a will, you may want to consider leaving a sum of money to the Parish. Over the years many people have given generous legacies to the parish and this continues to be an important source of funding, which has benefited our ministry and outreach in many ways. Any bequests made to us will be entirely free from any UK Inheritance Tax liability. For more information we have leaflets available in the church or please contact Jim Cadwallader via the Parish Office or there is a useful website www.churchlegacy.org.uk.
If you have any queries or would like more information please either complete the Planned Giving Contact Form or pick up one of the little ‘Giving’ leaflets in church. If you have not had a response from the contact form please email our Giving Secretary Michael Hoey on firstname.lastname@example.org.
