Colonel Michael Battles the Miles a la Captain Tom!
The Annual Churches Bike Ride on Saturday 12th September
Lieutenant Colonel Michael Hoey, with respect to “Captain Tom”, is Covid-confined to barracks (garden!), but nevertheless is cycling 64 miles today. Confined to barracks, he will cycle on the exercise bike, but in his mind he will be following a planned route from St Mary’s in Princes Risborough to visit 40 churches, raising over £2,000 for the Bucks Historic Churches Trust, which funds repairs on ancient churches. Fifty percent of the money raised will go directly to St Mary’s the other half goes to the BHCT.
You can find out more information and sign up by clicking on this link:http://bucks-historic-churches.org/ride-stride/ To participate or sponsor, please contact Michael Hoey. To greet at Churches anytime between 10.30am and 4.30pm contact Val Stattersfield. For those who prefer to walk, a group will be leaving the Baptist Church at 10am.
