LAUNCH OF PRINCES RISBOROUGH FOOD CUPBOARD
As lockdown continues and people have been furloughed, are unable to work due to childcare responsibilities, have been made redundant or are unable to continue with their self-employed business, economic hardship has hit many households hard. The reality is that with no income, families are struggling to put food on the table. Churches Together in Risborough, with support from Princes Risborough Town and Parish Councils, have set-up a temporary ‘Food Cupboard’ launching on Wednesday 13th May to supply food packages to families in need. This initiative is manned by volunteers and will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Families can phone in their request for a food package and this will then be delivered through the existing Risborough Basket network.
If you wish to volunteer to help, donate food or cash to buy food supplies, please see the details below. The Food Cupboard will have its operation centre at St Mary’s Parish Hall, and there is a dedicated phone number for clients to call. The Food Cupboard will hopefully continue to help families in need through this crisis, but is funded purely by donations, so your donations are very much appreciated.
