Walking from Winchester to Canterbury 31st May to 14th June
Open Evening at St Mary’s Church
Tuesday 25th February at 7.30pm
In recent years more and more people have put on their boots and set out on journeys which have enriched their lives. Many speak of the ‘draw’ the invitation from within to get up and go. Walking takes time and gives time, time to be with God, with self and with others, time for relaxation and enjoyment.
We hope this Open Evening at St Mary’s will answer your questions and prompt you to think about taking part – even if only for a day on the journey. We hope it will encourage and enable you to be a pilgrim as David Williams leads the Pilgrim’s Way walk from Winchester to Canterbury with our St Mary’s Church family and friends.
Proposed Route for the Walk
The current proposal, shown below, may be subject to slight change, but provides an idea for planning purposes. Participants are asked to book their own accommodation – there are B & B’s and camping sites along the way. Each day will start and end with a short session of Morning and Evening Prayer led by David Williams. There may also be the chance to meet together for an evening meal. Walkers can join for just one day, or multiple days, or even just come along to Winchester Cathedral on 31st May and Canterbury Cathedral on 14th June.
