Over the centuries Lent has been a time for considering and (re)-affirming what it means to follow Jesus on his journey to death and resurrection, culminating on Easter Sunday with the baptism of those seeking once more to turn to Christ.
Baptism is a public service of commitment to follow Jesus and to be part of God’s church. If you decide that you want to follow Jesus, then at some point in your journey of faith baptism will follow – for some maybe that time is now. If you have already been baptised there is always a need (and opportunity) to revisit and reaffirm the public commitment to turn to Christ, to revisit afresh the questions that are directed at our heart – in who do we trust? – and to the mind – in what do we believe?
This Lent please join us as we consider afresh what it means to turn to Christ. Over four weeks we’ll consider four key questions that lie at the heart of following Jesus:
- Do you turn to Christ?
- Do you believe and trust in God the Father?
- Do you believe and trust in Jesus Christ?
- Do you believe and trust in the Holy Spirit?
Please join us on Tuesday 19 March at 7.30pm (and the following three Tuesdays) in the Chapter House at St Mary’s Princes Risborough.
For further information please contact Michael Hunt. If you are interested in being baptised please speak to David, Dan or Michael.
