Following the success of the first evening, which marked the half way point in our year’s read, we will be holding a second evening on 21st September.
Michael and Dan, our illustrious panel for this theological version of ‘Question Time’, have kindly agreed to come back and follow the same format for the second evening. This time they will be focussing on questions about Heaven and Hell, since it was such a popular topic!
These evenings are not only for those who are following the reading plan but anyone who has questions about the Bible. In fact if you’ve given up or haven’t got started we are about to start the New Testament on 23 August, why not join us and finish the year on a high having read the whole of the New Testament in 2017.
The plan we are using is called Read Scripture. This is a completely free resource with so many helpful additions that should make the bible much more accessible to everyone. To get started just download the Read Scripture app from readscripture.org.
The daily scripture readings can be read off the app, or emailed to you every day as a notification. It should take 15-20 minutes a day to read a couple of chapters plus a psalm. By the end of the year you will have read the entire bible, plus the psalms twice. In addition, there are videos, made by The Bible Project, to watch at the start of each book that illustrate the message and context of each book of the bible. These videos are truly amazing and an invaluable tool to understanding the books in greater detail.
If you don’t have access to a computer you can download the Read Scripture Reading Plan here.
