This is the very first time we have a workshop on this important topic on dying and death for the St Mary’s community. It is FREE and open to ANYONE – for people of Christian faith, any other faith, or no faith. It is a Christian approach to death and dying will be presented sensitively but in no way pushed upon anyone. Each one of us has to make our own choice in life and death. ‘Someone should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows. ‘ (Pope Paul VI)
This community workshop series comes from a feeling of hope and is not a pessimistic event, nor a frightening one. Death is the one certainty in life. Sadly, not all deaths are ‘good deaths’. That’s why preparing and planning, with informed choices and practical advice, this series of workshops may turn out to be crucial to you and those whom you love.
Bringing death to life, with the help of experts, from funeral directors to bereavement listeners, making your own ‘Bucket List’ of things you would like to accomplish, writing your Will and Advance Directive, thinking whether you might like someone to have the gift of life from your donated organs. Why not come and listen, share and question in an open and friendly space! Mid-morning refreshments and a Workbook will be included. There is no fee or charge.
